Standard Cleaning vs. Deep Cleaning: Which One Does Your Home Need?
By Famous Pink Cleaning · Published October 27, 2026
It's one of the first questions we hear from homeowners in Lewisville, Flower Mound, Denton and across Dallas–Fort Worth: "Do I need a standard clean or a deep clean?" The short answer is that it depends on how your home looks right now and how recently it was professionally cleaned. Here's how the two compare, what each one costs, and how to pick the right one.

The short answer
- Choose a standard clean if your home is already in good shape and you want kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas refreshed.
- Choose a deep clean if buildup has collected over a busy season, it's been a while since your last professional cleaning, or you're starting regular service for the first time.
What a standard clean covers
Our standard residential cleaning is routine cleaning for homes that are kept up. Our team works through the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas, taking care of the spaces you use every day: counters, sinks, mirrors, toilets, showers and tubs, dusting, trash, and vacuuming and mopping floors.
A standard clean works well one time, or on a weekly, biweekly or monthly schedule.
What a deep clean adds
A residential deep cleaning is a top-to-bottom reset. It covers everything in a standard clean and adds detail work on:
- Baseboards, doors and trim
- Fixtures
- Buildup in kitchens and bathrooms
Because it's more thorough, a deep clean takes more time, and that's why it costs more. Tell us which areas bother you most and we'll make them a priority.
Good to know: interior appliances, interior cabinets, windows, laundry, dishes and organizing aren't part of either package unless you add them to your booking. Just ask for them when you request your quote.

Cleaning services start at the prices shown. Final pricing depends on square footage, property condition, cleaning frequency, and requested services. Additional work will be quoted for approval before it begins. See all of our rates on the pricing page.
Starting recurring service? Your first visit is a deep clean
If you'd like regular cleaning, your first recurring visit is an initial deep clean, priced at the Deep Cleaning rate for your home size. That gets everything to a clean baseline. After that, your visits are standard cleans billed by frequency:
- Weekly: 10% off the standard rate
- Biweekly: 5% off the standard rate
- Monthly: standard pricing
For example, a 1,800 sq. ft. home on a weekly schedule would start with a $475 initial deep clean, then $238.50 per visit ($265 minus 10%). Discounts apply to the base cleaning only, not add-ons, and can't be combined.
Quick checklist: which one fits?
A deep clean is usually the better choice if:
- It's been several months (or longer) since your last professional cleaning
- You can see buildup on baseboards, trim, fixtures or around kitchen and bathroom surfaces
- You're hosting family for the holidays and want the whole home reset
- You're starting weekly, biweekly or monthly service
A standard clean is usually enough if:
- Your home is cleaned regularly and just needs a refresh
- You're keeping up between recurring visits
- You want the everyday rooms looking and feeling fresh again
Still not sure? Tell us about your home and we'll recommend the right service.
How to get ready for your cleaning
Before your team arrives, please pick up clutter, like clothes, toys and items on counters and floors, so our cleaners can reach the surfaces you're paying for. You don't need to be home during the cleaning once your card is on file and your service agreement is signed. No deposit is collected up front; on the morning of your appointment we place a temporary hold on your card for 50% of the service price, and the balance is charged when the service is complete. If you cancel after that hold is placed, we keep half of the hold and release the other half.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a deep clean worth it before regular cleaning?
Yes. That's why every recurring plan starts with an initial deep clean. It brings the home to a clean baseline so your standard visits can keep it there.
Why does a deep clean cost more?
It includes everything in a standard clean plus detail work on baseboards, doors, trim, fixtures and kitchen and bathroom buildup, so it takes more time.
Are inside the oven and fridge included?
Interior appliances and interior cabinets aren't included in standard or deep cleans unless you add them to your booking. Ask for them in your quote.
Do I need to be home?
No. Once your card is on file and your agreement is signed, you don't need to be there.
